To form a selected direction (126), a direction (118) is selected in a lamination sequence (120) for a ply (122) of the composite part (104) to result in the composite part (104) having a desired strength (124) and the allowable level (114) of warpage (116). The composite part (104) is manufactured by using the selected direction (126).
