The present invention relates to a system for supplying a compressed gas fuel to a main engine of a marine ship and the other gas fuel consumer of the marine ship, and a method for operating the system. The system comprises a storage tank, a cryogenic pump unit, a first supply conduit, a high pressure vaporizer, an evaporation gas conduit, a first heat exchanger, a second supply conduit, and a reliquefaction conduit.
