A battery device is configured to: receive an SOC configuration range; charge at least one battery pack; estimate an SOC on the basis of state information of the at least one battery pack; monitor whether the estimated SOC reaches a charge reference value corresponding to an upper limit of the SOC configuration range; and as a result of monitoring, when the estimated SOC reaches the charge reference value, stop charging. The SOC configuration range is determined on the basis of travel information of a vehicle, and may be within an SOC limit range in which the degree of degradation of battery cells constituting the at least one battery pack is the lowest.

    배터리 장치는 SOC 설정 범위를 수신하고, 적어도 하나의 배터리 팩을 충전하며, 상기 적어도 하나의 배터리 팩의 상태 정보에 기초하여 SOC를 추정하고, 상기 추정된 SOC가 상기 SOC 설정 범위의 상한에 대응하는 충전 기준 값에 도달하는지 모니터링 하며, 상기 모니터링 결과 상기 추정된 SOC가 상기 충전 기준 값에 도달하면 충전을 중지할 수 있다. 상기 SOC 설정 범위는 자동차의 운행 정보에 기초하여 결정되고, 상기 적어도 하나의 배터리 팩을 구성하는 배터리 셀의 열화가 가장 낮은 SOC 제한 범위 내일 수 있다.
