The present invention provides a technology for suppressing return current flowing between sub-circuits in a bidirectional power converter wherein the plurality of sub-circuits are connected in parallel. A bidirectional power converter has a first terminal (11; 111a, 111b, 111c), a second terminal (13; 113a, 113b, 113c), a main reactor (22; 122a, 122b, 122c), a plurality of sub-circuits (5, 6), and a controller. Each of the sub-circuits has an upper switching element (32, 34) and a lower switching element (31, 33) connected in series, two diodes (42, 41), and a sub-reactor (24). The controller sequentially controls the plurality of sub-circuits. The controller causes the lower switching element in each of the sub-circuits (5, 6) to be turned on and off and then, the upper switching element to be turned on and off while a current is flowing from the first terminal toward the second terminal. The controller causes the upper switching element in each of the sub-circuits to be turned on and off and then, the lower switching element to be turned on and off while the current is flowing from the second terminal toward the first terminal.

    쌍방향 전력 변환기는, 제 1 단자 (11 ; 111a, 111b, 111c) 와, 제 2 단자 (13 ; 113a, 113b, 113c) 와, 메인 리액터 (22 ; 122a, 122b, 122c) 와, 복수의 서브 회로 (5, 6) 와, 컨트롤러를 구비하고 있다. 각 서브 회로는, 직렬로 접속되어 있는 상 스위칭 소자 (32, 34) 와 하 스위칭 소자 (31, 33) 와, 2 개의 다이오드 (42, 41) 와, 서브 리액터 (24) 를 구비하고 있다. 컨트롤러는, 복수의 서브 회로를 순차적으로 제어한다. 컨트롤러는, 제 1 단자로부터 제 2 단자로 전류가 흐르고 있는 동안에는, 각각의 서브 회로 (5, 6) 의 하 스위칭 소자를 온하고 오프한 후에 상 스위칭 소자를 온하고 오프한다. 컨트롤러는, 제 2 단자로부터 제 1 단자로 전류가 흐르고 있는 동안에는, 각각의 서브 회로의 상 스위칭 소자를 온하고 오프한 후에 하 스위칭 소자를 온하고 오프한다.
