The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for sensing hydrogen charging of a fuel cell vehicle. A main objective of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for sensing hydrogen charging, which are capable of accurately sensing whether hydrogen is charged or not in the fuel cell vehicle. In order to achieve the objective of the present invention, the apparatus of the present invention includes: an infrared light transmission unit which sends out a fuel door sensing infrared light signal for sensing a fuel door opened during hydrogen charging and a nozzle sensing infrared light signal for sensing a hydrogen charging nozzle of a charging station side connected to a hydrogen charging inlet of the vehicle; an infrared light reception unit which receives a fuel door sensing infrared light signal reflected from the fuel door after the fuel door sensing infrared light signal has been sent out from the infrared light transmission unit and a nozzle sensing infrared light signal reflected from the hydrogen charging nozzle after the nozzle sensing infrared light signal has been sent out from the infrared light transmission unit; and a controller which determines that hydrogen is being charged into the vehicle if an opening state of the fuel door and a connection state of the hydrogen charging nozzle to the hydrogen charging inlet are sensed through the infrared light reception unit.

    본 발명은 연료전지 차량의 수소 충전 감지 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 연료전지 차량에서 수소 충전 여부를 정확히 감지할 수 있는 수소 충전 감지 장치 및 방법을 제공하는데 주된 목적이 있는 것이다. 상기한 목적을 달성하기 위해, 수소 충전 시 개방되는 연료도어를 감지하기 위한 연료도어 감지용 적외선 신호와, 차량의 수소 충전구에 연결된 충전소 측 수소 충전 노즐을 감지하기 위한 노즐 감지용 적외선 신호를 송출하는 적외선 송신부; 상기 적외선 송신부에서 송출된 후 연료도어에서 반사된 연료도어 감지용 적외선 신호와, 상기 적외선 송신부에서 송출된 후 수소 충전 노즐에서 반사된 노즐 감지용 적외선 신호를 수신하는 적외선 수신부; 및 상기 적외선 수신부를 통해 연료도어의 개방 상태 및 수소 충전 노즐의 수소 충전구 연결 상태를 감지하면 차량이 수소 충전 중인 것으로 판단하는 제어기를 포함하는 연료전지 차량의 수소 충전 감지 장치, 및 그 방법이 개시된다.
