The present invention relates to a method for automatically maintaining a transportation system. The method comprises the steps of: performing automated maintenance tasks on a transportation system; storing results of automated maintenance tasks in a maintenance database; and providing maintenance tasks to a mobile device, wherein each maintenance task includes a maintenance task identifier and a maintenance task status.
