The present invention relates to an impact absorber for a railway car which can minimize noise. According to the present invention, the impact absorber for a railway car has a piston valve dividing the interior of a cylinder filled with a fluid into a compression chamber and a tension chamber. The piston valve comprises: a compression side passage wherein a first inlet on a lower end in a body penetrates the compression chamber, and a first outlet on an upper end penetrates the tension chamber; a tension side passage wherein a second inlet on the upper end in the body penetrates the tension chamber, and a second outlet on the lower end penetrates the compression chamber; a plunger installed in the compression side passage and the tension side passage, wherein opposite opening ends are inserted into the first inlet and the second inlet in a blocked state, and an inlet passage is formed on the opening ends to be opened by an ascent during a stroke; and a variable passage which is formed concavely on an upper end of an inner side of the first inlet and a lower end of an inner side of the second inlet, and has a cross sectional area becoming larger towards an exit side of the first inlet and the second inlet to gradually increase a cross sectional area connected to the inlet passage during a stroke.

    본 발명에 따른 철도 차량용 완충기는, 유체가 충전된 실린더의 내부를 압축챔버 및 인장챔버로 구분하는 피스톤 밸브를 갖는 철도 차량용 완충기에 있어서, 상기 피스톤 밸브는, 몸체의 내부에서 하단의 제1유입구가 상기 압축챔버로 관통 형성되며, 상단의 제1유출구가 상기 인장챔버로 관통 형성되는 압축측 유로와, 상기 몸체의 내부에서 상단의 제2유입구가 상기 인장챔버로 관통 형성되며, 하단의 제2유출구가 상기 압축챔버로 관통 형성되는 인장측 유로와, 상기 압축측 유로와 상기 인장측 유로에 승강 가능하게 각각 설치되고, 상호 반대되는 개폐단이 상기 제1유입구와 상기 제2유입구에 차단된 상태로 삽입되며, 상기 개폐단에는 행정시 승강에 의해 개방되도록 유입 통로가 형성되는 플런저 및, 상기 제1유입구의 내측 상단과 상기 제2유입구의 내측 하단에 오목하게 형성되며, 상기 제1유입구와 상기 제2유입구의 출측으로 갈수록 단면적이 증가되어, 행정시 상기 유입 통로와 연결되는 단면적을 점진적으로 증가시키는 가변 유로를 포함한다.
