The present invention provides a vehicle battery system for improving vehicle marketability for a driver and preventing additional discharge of a first battery by controlling starting of a vehicle when the first battery is over-discharged. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the vehicle battery system comprises: a sensing unit for measuring current and voltage of first and second batteries; a first relay connected between the first battery and electric components of the vehicle; a second relay connected between the second battery and a control unit; and a control unit for receiving data from the sensing unit to turn off the first relay or turn on the second relay.

    본 발명은 제 1 배터리의 과방전 시 차량의 시동을 제어함으로써 제 1 배터리의 추가적인 방전을 방지할 수 있고, 운전자에게 차량 상품성을 향상시킬 수 있는 차량용 배터리 시스템 및 그 제어 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 차량용 배터리 시스템은 제 1 및 제 2 배터리의 전류와 전압을 측정하는 감지부, 상기 제 1 배터리와 차량의 전장품들 사이에 접속된 제 1 릴레이, 상기 제 2 배터리와 제어부 사이에 접속된 제 2 릴레이 및 상기 감지부로부터 데이터를 전송 받아 상기 제 1 릴레이를 오프 시키거나, 상기 제 2 릴레이를 온 시키는 제어부를 포함한다.
