The present invention relates to a grid type ballast system for a VLCC and a ship having the same wherein a ballast tank is removed, and a grid type ballast system installed in a cargo tank to increase a cargo loading amount and reduce painting and maintenance costs. According to the present invention, the grid type ballast system comprises: a grid type ballast structure installed in a cargo tank; and a ballast structure installed in the grid type ballast structure to be contracted and expanded to fill ballast water to control ballast.

    본 발명은 밸러스트 탱크를 제거하고 카고 탱크 내에 격자형 밸러스트 시스템을 설치하게 되어 화물 적재량을 증가시킬 수 있으며 도장 및 유지보수 비용을 절감할 수 있는 VLCC용 격자형 밸러스트 시스템에 관한 것으로서, 카고 탱크 내에 설치되는 격자형 밸러스트 구조물과, 상기 격자형 밸러스트 구조물에 설치되어 수축 및 팽창되면서 평형수를 채워 밸러스트를 조절할 수 있도록 하는 밸러스트 구조체를 포함한다.
