The present invention relates to a purge valve control device for a fuel cell vehicle, and to a method thereof. The purge valve control device estimates whether the concentration of hydrogen inside a channel of a fuel cell electrode (anode) in a fuel cell stack is greater than a reference value when a vehicle is restarted after being parked (ignition off). When the concentration of hydrogen exceeds the reference value, the purge valve control device variably controls the time to open a purge valve based on the duration of parking the vehicle, thereby reducing the amount of consumed hydrogen. Thus, the purge valve control device enhances fuel efficiency of the fuel cell vehicle.
본 발명은 연료전지 차량의 퍼지밸브 제어 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 차량 주차(시동 OFF) 후 재시동시 연료전지 스택의 연료극(anode) 채널 내 수소농도가 기준치를 초과하는지 추정하고, 상기 기준치를 초과하는 경우에 상기 차량의 주차시간에 기초하여 퍼지밸브의 개방시간을 가변적으로 제어함으로써, 수소 소모량을 저감시켜 연비를 향상시키는 연료전지 차량의 퍼지밸브 제어 장치 및 그 방법을 제공하고자 한다.
