The present invention relates to a dicyclopentadiene (DCPD)-modified phenol resin and a rubber composition for a tire tread comprising the same. More specifically, according to the present invention, the DCPD phenol resin minimizes the decline in mechanical properties caused by a tackifier resin and significantly improves the material properties such as Chip&Cut properties, rolling resistance (R.R), and the like. The DCPD-modified phenol resin has the weight average molecular weight of 300 to 1000 g/mol and has a softening point of 80-140C.

    본 발명은 디싸이클로펜타디엔(DCPD) 변성 폐놀 수지 및 이를 포함하는 타이어 트레드용 고무 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 구체적으로 본 발명에 따른 DCPD 페놀 수지는 점착부여제 수지에 의해 기인하는 기계적 물성의 저하를 최소화 시키면서 Chip&Cut 특성 및 구름저항(R.R) 등과 같은 물성을 현저하게 향상시킴으로써, 고성능의 타이어 제조에 유용하게 사용될 수 있는 장점을 가진다.
