In a method of notifying a predicted cost of refueling, a navigation system installed in a vehicle searches for a route to a destination when the destination is set in the navigation system. A self-diagnostic device of the vehicle obtains an amount of available fuel to transmit the amount of available fuel to the navigation system. The navigation system calculates an amount of fuel required to drive to the destination based on a distance to the destination, the amount of available fuel, and a mileage of the vehicle to notify a driver of the vehicle of a suitable gas station located in the searched route. The navigation system obtains a fuel price of the gas station by a TPEG message when the vehicle enters the gas station. The navigation system calculates a predicted cost of refueling according to the obtained fuel price and the amount of required fuel to notify the driver of the predicted cost of refueling.
예상 주유비 알림 방법에서, 차량에 설치된 내비게이션 시스템에 목적지가 설정되면 내비게이션 시스템이 목적지까지의 경로를 탐색한다. 차량의 자기진단장치가 보유 기름량을 파악하여 이를 내비게이션 시스템으로 전송한다. 내비게이션 시스템이 목적지까지의 거리, 보유 기름량 및 차량의 연비에 기초하여 목적지까지 운행하는 데 필요한 기름량을 계산함으로써, 탐색된 경로 내에 위치하는 적절한 주유소를 차량의 운전자에게 알려준다. 차량이 주유소에 진입하면 내비게이션 시스템이 티펙 메시지를 통해 주유소의 유가를 파악한다. 내비게이션 시스템이 파악된 유가 및 필요한 기름량에 따라 예상 주유비를 계산하여 이를 차량의 운전자에게 알려준다.
