Disclosed are a system and a method to prevent a back flow of seawater through an exhaust pipe of a vessel. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the system includes: a buffer chamber formed by being connected to an exhaust pipe of a power generator, including an outlet, through a string of a vessel, and storing seawater flowing backward through the outlet of the exhaust pipe; a drain line connected to discharge the seawater stored in the buffer chamber; and a drain pump installed in the drain line to transfer the seawater through the drain line. Therefore, the present invention is capable of saving costs and improving space utilization.

    선박의 배기 파이프를 통한 해수 역류 방지 시스템 및 방법에 관하여 개시한다. 본 발명의 일 측면에 따르면, 선박의 현측을 통해 출구가 형성된 발전기의 배기 파이프와 연통하여 형성되며, 상기 배기 파이프의 출구를 통해 역류된 해수를 수용하는 버퍼 챔버(buffer chamber)와, 버퍼 챔버 내에 수용된 해수를 배출시키도록 연결되는 드레인 라인(drain line)과, 드레인 라인에 설치되어 드레인 라인을 통해 해수를 이송시키도록 구동하는 드레인 펌프(drain pump)를 포함하는 선박의 배기 파이프를 통한 해수 역류 방지 시스템을 제공한다.
