Provided are a traffic signal control system and a traffic signal apparatus, which can turn on a traffic signal by using stored electricity in case of electricity emergency situation like a blackout after traffic signal control electricity is stored in each traffic signal apparatus in ordinary times. A traffic signal controller according to one embodiment of the present invention supplies commercial electricity or control electricity to the traffic signal apparatus by judging which of the commercial electricity and the stored electricity is to be used. The traffic signal apparatus comprises a battery, and turns on the traffic signal lamp by using the electricity stored in the battery or the electricity from the traffic signal controller on the basis of an electricity signal from the traffic signal controller. According to the present invention, it is possible to decrease probability of blackout, because it is possible to decrease power consumption by the traffic signal when power consumption is high.

    평상시에 교통신호등 제어전력을 각각의 교통신호등 장치에 저장하였다가 블랙아웃 등의 전력 위기 상황이 되면 저장된 전력을 사용하여 교통신호등을 점등하도록 하는 교통신호등 제어시스템 및 교통신호등 장치가 제공된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 교통신호제어기는 상용전원 또는 저장된 전력 중에 어떤 것을 사용할 것인지 여부를 판단하여 상용전력 또는 제어전력을 교통신호등 장치에 공급한다. 교통신호등 장치는 배터리를 구비하며, 교통신호제어기로부터의 전력신호에 기초하여 배터리에 저장된 전력 또는 교통신호제어기로부터의 전력을 사용하여 신호등을 점등한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 전력 사용량이 많을 때에 교통신호등에 의한 전력사용량을 저감시킬 수 있으므로, 블랙아웃의 확율을 낮출 수 있다.
