The present invention relates to a rubber composition for a tire tread which can improve abrasion performance, rotational resistance performance, traction performance, and especially, wet traction on wet roads by snow, ice, and water, and brake properties on ice roads. The rubber composition for a tire tread comprises: 10 to 40 parts by weight of modified styrene butadiene rubber which has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000,000 to 1,500,000, a styrene content of 35 to 50 wt%, a vinyl content of 45 to 65 wt%; 40 to 60 parts by weight of modified styrene butadiene rubber which has a weight average molecular weight of 200,000 to 300,000, a styrene content of 10 to 20 wt%, a vinyl content of 25 to 35 wt%; 50 to 70 parts by weight of silica with respect to 100 parts by weight of raw rubber having 5 to 50 parts by weight of natural rubber; and 1 to 10 parts by weight of carbon black.

    본 발명은 마모성능, 회전저항성능, 또한 트렉션 성능, 특히 눈, 빙판 및 물과 같은 젖은 노면에서의 웨트 트랙션 및 빙상 제동 특성을 향상시킬 수 있는 타이어 트레드용 고무조성물에 관한 것이다.
