In braking on a hybrid vehicle or an electric vehicle, provided is a method determining a brake system has malfunction by measuring required deceleration/acceleration and actual vehicle deceleration/acceleration in accordance with brake pedal pressure, measuring a yaw rate value and change in deceleration/acceleration in accordance with a braking section of a vehicle to determine malfunction of a regenerative brake system and a friction brake system, and determining whether the brake system has malfunction in case the friction brake system has malfunction.
