According to an embodiment of the present invention, a device for charging an electric vehicle comprises: a power supply part which receives external alternative current power; a charging part which charges a battery of an electric vehicle by converting the received external alternative current power into direct current power; a battery sensor part which monitors a charged state of the battery; a control part which determines a battery charging mode that is a method for charging the battery based on at least one from the external alternative current power and the charged state of the battery, and controls the operation of charging the battery based on the determined battery charging mode; and an inverter part which operates a motor of the electric vehicle based on the power charged in the battery, and charges the battery by receiving the external alternative current power to convert the received external alternative current power into direct current power.

    본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 전기 자동차의 충전 장치는 외부 교류 전원을 입력받는 전원공급부와 상기 입력된 외부 교류 전원을 직류 전원으로 변환하여 상기 전기 자동차의 배터리를 충전시키는 충전부와 상기 배터리의 충전 상태를 감지하는 배터리 센서부와 상기 외부 교류 전원, 상기 배터리의 충전 상태 중 하나 이상을 기초로 상기 배터리를 충전하는 방식인 배터리 충전 모드를 결정하고, 결정된 배터리 충전 모드를 기초로 상기 배터리를 충전시키는 동작을 제어하는 제어부와 상기 배터리에 충전된 전원을 기초로 상기 전기 자동차의 모터를 동작시키고, 상기 외부 교류 전원을 입력받아 입력된 외부 교류 전원을 직류 전원으로 변환하여 상기 배터리를 충전시키는 인버터부를 포함한다.
