A regenerative brake device of a hybrid electric vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an engine for generating power by combusting fuel; an HSG for starting the engine and generating electrical energy by functioning as a power generator as the engine has been started; a motor for supplementing the power of the engine and generating electrical energy by functioning as a power generator during braking; and a control part for conducting regenerative braking by operating the HSG if decelerating energy generated during braking exceeds the power generation capacity of the motor. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the fuel efficiency of a hybrid electric vehicle can be improved by regenerating exceeding decelerating energy via the HSG if the decelerating energy generated during the deceleration of the vehicle exceeds the power generation capacity of the motor.

    본 발명의 실시예에 의한 하이브리드 차량의 회생 제동 장치는, 연료를 연소시켜 동력을 발생시키는 엔진; 상기 엔진을 시동시키고, 엔진이 시동된 상태에서 발전기로 작동하여 전기 에너지를 생성하는 HSG; 상기 엔진의 동력을 보조하고 제동시 발전기로 작동하여 전기 에너지를 생성하는 모터; 제동시 발생하는 감속 에너지가 상기 모터의 발전 용량을 초과하는 경우, 상기 HSG를 작동시켜 회생 제동시키는 제어부;를 포함한다. 본 발명의 실시예에 의하면, 차량의 감속시에 발생하는 감속 에너지가 모터의 발전 용량을 초과하였을 때, 초과하는 감속 에너지를 HSG를 통해 회생시켜 하이브리드 자동차의 연비를 개선시킬 수 있다.
