The present invention relates to a tire pressure monitoring system and an automatic assignment method of a tire position and, more particularly, to a tire pressure monitoring system and an automatic assignment method of a tire position, by which a position of a tire pressure detecting module that measures and transmits pressures of a tire to a control unit is assigned to a wheel. The tire pressure monitoring system comprises: a tire pressure detecting module provided on a wheel or a tire, which measures pressure of the tire and a wheel phase angle, transmits a burst consecutively including data frames including tire pressure information and an identification code at an arbitrary phase angle position, and sets a delay time between consecutive data frames on the basis of an arbitrary phase angle position; a wheel rotation detecting module provided in a vehicle, which measures rotation of a wheel and provides second wheel phase angle information; and a control unit which receives the burst from the tire pressure detecting module, receives the second wheel phase angle information on the time of transmitting the burst, calculates an arbitrary phase angle position from the delay time, and compares the phase angle position with the second wheel phase angle information, to determine the position of the wheel provided with the tire pressure detecting module, thereby simply determining and automatically assigning the position of the tire pressure detecting module in a direct-type tire pressure detecting system.

    본 발명은 휠 또는 타이어에 마련되어 타이어의 압력 및 휠 위상각을 측정하고 임의의 위상각 위치에서 타이어 압력 정보 및 식별 부호를 포함하는 데이터 프레임을 연속하여 구성한 버스트를 송신하며, 연속된 데이터 프레임 사이의 딜레이 시간은 임의의 위상각 위치를 기초로 설정하는 타이어 압력 감지 모듈; 차체에 마련되며 휠의 회전을 측정하여 제2 휠 위상각 정보를 제공하는 휠 회전 감지 모듈; 및 타이어 압력 감지 모듈로부터 버스트를 수신하고 버스트를 송신한 때의 제2 휠 위상각 정보를 입력받아, 딜레이 시간으로부터 임의의 위상각 위치를 산출하고 이를 제2 휠 위상각 정보와 상호 비교함으로써 타이어 압력 감지 모듈이 장착된 휠의 위치를 판별하는 제어 유닛을 포함하는 타이어 압력 감지 시스템을 제공하여, 직접 방식 타이어 압력 감지 시스템에서 타이어 압력 감지 모듈의 위치를 간단하게 판별하여 자동으로 할당할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
