The present invention relates to a cooling system for a vehicle and a control method thereof, capable of effectively controlling the amount of cooling without a thermostat and/or a control valve by controlling air inflow and cooling water flow passing through a radiator through control of an air flap device in a vehicle which is installed with an air flap device. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the cooling system for a vehicle comprises: an electric water pump for circulating cooling water; an air flap device which actively controls the air inflow into the inside of an engine room of a vehicle; a radiator for supplying cooling water to an engine; a fan for cooling the cooling water of the radiator; and a control device which controls the electric water pump, air flap device and fan in accordance with operating states and conditions of the vehicle, wherein the radiator and the electric water can be directly connected without any intervention therebetween by a component such as a thermostat or a control valve.

    본 발명은 에어플랩 장치가 설치된 차량에서 에어플랩 장치의 제어를 통해 라디에이터를 통과하는 유입 공기량과 냉각수 유량을 제어함으로써 써모스탯 및/또는 제어밸브 없이도 냉각량을 효과적으로 제어할 수 있는 차량용 냉각 시스템 및 제어 방법에 관한 것이다. 이를 위한 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 차량용 냉각 시스템은, 냉각수를 순환시키기 위한 전동식 워터펌프; 차량의 엔진 룸 내부로 유입되는 공기량을 능동적으로 제어하는 에어플랩(air flap) 장치; 엔진에 냉각수를 공급하기 위한 라디에이터; 상기 라디에이터의 냉각수를 냉각하기 위한 팬(fan); 및 차량의 운행 상태 및 조건에 따라 상기 전동식 워터펌프, 에어플랩 장치, 및 팬을 제어하는 제어기;를 포함하고, 상기 라디에이터와 상기 전동식 워터펌프 사이에는 써모스탯 및 제어밸브와 같은 구성요소의 개입 없이 직접 연결될 수 있다.
