일실시예에 따른 전자식 주차 브레이크 시스템은 모터에 의하여 작동하는 EPB 액추에이터를 포함하는 전자식 주차 브레이크 시스템에 있어서, 모터를 구동시키는 모터 구동부; 및 모터 구동부와 전기적으로 연결되고, ESC 시스템을 제어하는 ESC 제어부와 전기적으로 연결되는 EPB 제어부를 포함하고, EPB 제어부는 ESC 제어부에 협조 요청하여 AVH(Auto Vehicle Hold) 기능이 동작된 상태에서 모터의 구동에 따른 전자식 주차 브레이크의 작동(Apply)시에, 운전자의 운전 의지가 있는지를 판단하고, 운전자의 운전 의지가 있으면, 전자식 주차 브레이크의 작동을 수행하고 있는 양쪽 휠에 대응하는 양쪽의 전자식 주차 브레이크에 대해 양쪽의 제동력을 발생시키는 횟수인 양쪽의 EPB 체결 횟수에 기초하여 양쪽의 전자식 주차 브레이크에 대해 프리(Pre) 작동 해제(Release) 모드로 변경시키고, 프리 작동 해제 모드로 변경되고, DAA(Drive Away Assist) 기능의 수행 조건을 만족한 상태에서 가속 페달 정보를 수신받으면, 양쪽의 전자식 주차 브레이크에 대해 작동 해제(Release) 모드로 변경시키는 것을 포함한다.

    An electronic parking brake system according to an embodiment of the present invention, which is an electronic parking brake system including an EPB actuator operated by a motor, comprises: a motor driving part for driving a motor; and an EPB control part electrically connected to the motor driving part and electrically connected to an ESC control part for controlling an ESC system. The EPB control part determines whether a driver intends to drive when an electronic parking brake is applied by the drive of the motor with an auto vehicle holding (AVH) function operated by a request for cooperation to the ESC control part, if the driver intends to drive, converts the electronic parking brakes at both sides into a pre operation release mode based on the EPB coupling number at both sides, which is the number of generating a braking force at both sides on the electronic parking brakes at both sides corresponding to wheels at both sides, which perform the operation of the electronic parking brakes, and converts the electronic parking brakes at both sides into an operation release mode if acceleration pedal information is received with conditions for performing a drive away assist (DAA) function satisfied after conversion into a pre operation release mode. According to the electronic parking brake system and a control method thereof of the present invention, the abrasion of a frictional pad can be prevented by preventing a brake drag of a vehicle.
