Disclosed are a system and a method for self-contained hydrogen power generation for an electric vehicle charging station. The self-contained hydrogen power generation system for an electric vehicle charging station proposed by the present invention comprises: an advanced water purification part for storing rainwater, seawater or piped water in a water storage tank and purifying the water by removing sediments; a solar water electrolysis part for introducing purified water and generating clean hydrogen via hydrogen electrolysis to store the clean hydrogen; an energy production and storage part for having the clean hydrogen injected thereinto to be converted into energy through fuel cells and performing the process of energy production and storage using energy generated from solar panels; and a charger for receiving the energy stored in the energy production and storage part and using the energy to charge an electric vehicle. Therefore, provided is a system for improving the charger supply situation of an electric vehicle.
