Disclosed are an apparatus and method for diagnosing a fault of a ship engine, which can perform fault diagnosis of a ship engine by using a fault classification model. The method for diagnosing a fault of a ship engine comprises: a step of collecting vibration data for the ship engine; a step of calculating the ship engine's power spectral density data or spectrogram data through Fourier transform of the collected vibration data; a step of reducing a dimension of the power spectral density data or spectrogram data and then generating learning data; a step of performing machine learning using a neural network for the generated learning data and generating a fault classification model; and a step of determining whether the ship engine has a fault from the ship engine's power spectral density data or spectrogram data acquired in real time by using the generated fault classification model.

    선박 엔진 고장 진단 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 선박 엔진 고장 진단 방법은, 선박 엔진에 대한 진동 데이터를 수집하는 단계, 수집된 진동 데이터의 푸리에 변환을 통해 선박 엔진에 대한 전력 스펙트럼 밀도(Power Spectral Density) 데이터 또는 스펙트로그램(Spectrogram) 데이터를 산출하는 단계, 전력 스펙트럼 밀도 데이터 또는 스펙트로그램 데이터의 차원을 축소하여 학습 데이터를 생성하는 단계, 생성된 학습 데이터에 대하여 신경망을 이용한 기계학습을 수행하여 고장 분류 모델을 생성하는 단계 및 생성된 고장 분류 모델을 이용하여, 실시간 획득되는 선박 엔진의 전력 스펙트럼 밀도 데이터 또는 스펙트로그램 데이터로부터 선박 엔진의 고장 여부를 판별하는 단계를 포함한다.
