The present invention relates to a urban traffic congestion degree predicting method applicable to a smart city, and a system thereof. According to one embodiment of the present application, the urban traffic congestion degree predicting method, comprises the steps of: (a) deriving a congestion degree determined in accordance with a traffic situation at one or more unit intersections as a value having a direction; and (b) constructing a database for a congestion degree on the basis of the congestion degree of the unit intersections for a road network of a predetermined area including the unit intersections. The step (a) includes the steps of: (a1) performing vehicle detection-related sensing in a region of interest within an intersection; (a2) detecting vehicle-related information in a to-be-detected area defined in relation to the value having the direction within the region of interest, on the basis of a vehicle detection-related sensing result; and (a3) deriving the congestion degree of the unit intersections on the basis of a detected vehicle. The step (a1) can be performed at a time point including a signal change time point of a traffic signal within the intersection. Therefore, a traffic congestion degree of a road network can be efficiently predicted.

    본원은 도심지 교통혼잡도 예측방법 및 시스템에 관한 것으로, 본원의 일 실시예에 따른 도심지 교통혼잡도 예측방법은, (a) 하나 이상의 단위 교차로에서 교통 상황에 따라 결정되는 혼잡도를 방향을 가지는 값으로 도출하는 단계; (b) 상기 하나 이상의 단위 교차로를 포함하는 소정 영역의 도로망에 대하여, 단위 교차로의 혼잡도를 기반으로 혼잡도에 대한 데이터베이스를 구축하는 단계를 포함하며, 상기 (a) 단계는, a1) 교차로 내 관심영역에서 차량 검출 관련 센싱을 수행하는 단계; a2) 상기 차량 검출 관련 센싱 결과에 기초하여, 상기 관심영역 내에서 상기 방향을 가지는 값과 관련하여 정의된 검출대상영역에서 차량 관련 정보를 검출하는 단계; 및 a3) 검출된 차량을 기반으로 단위 교차로의 혼잡도를 도출하는 단계를 포함하되, 상기 a1) 단계는 상기 교차로 내 교통신호의 신호 변경 시점을 포함하는 시점에 수행될 수 있다.
