The present invention relates to a speed converter for railway vehicles, which directly transmits power of an engine to a shaft of a wheel when a railway vehicle runs at a high speed, and cuts off the power of the engine and drives the shaft of the wheel at a low speed by drive of a hydraulic motor when the railway vehicle runs at the low speed. Thus, the speed converter for railway vehicles can stably operate railway vehicles in accordance with an operation environment. The speed converter for railway vehicles includes a speed conversion unit (300) that drives the shaft (130) at a high speed by a transmission (120) due to a disconnected state of a clutch (340) for hydraulic drive when the railway vehicle (100) runs at a high speed, and is able to perform low-speed running by adjusting a gear ratio with power of the hydraulic motor (331) since the clutch (340) for hydraulic drive is in an engaged state when the railway vehicle (100) runs at a low speed.
본 발명은 철도차량의 고속주행 시에는 엔진의 동력을 차륜의 샤프트에 직접 전달하고, 철도차량의 저속주행 시에는 엔진의 동력을 차단하고 유압모터의 구동에 의해 차륜의 샤프트를 저속으로 구동하므로 작업환경에 맞게 철도차량을 안정적으로 운행할 수 있는 철도차량의 속도 변환장치에 관한 것이다.
