The present invention relates to a relay driving device and a method thereof, the device being characterized by comprising: a pre-charge unit which includes a pre-charge switch to be turned on by the input of a relay driving signal to form a path of a current flowing to a relay coil, and a current limit resistor to limit the current flowing to the relay coil, thereby connecting the switching contact to the pre-charge relay contact with respect to the relay coil; a current command signal generation unit which generates a current command signal to control the level of the current flowing to the relay coil by means of a plurality of charging elements which are sequentially charged by the relay driving signal; and a current control unit which includes a main switch of which on-and-off motion is controlled depending on the current command signal in order to control the level of the current flowing to the relay coil, and thus connects the switching contact to the main relay contactwith respect to the relay coil.

    본 발명은 릴레이 구동 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 릴레이 동작 신호의 입력에 의해 턴 온되어 릴레이 코일로 흐르는 전류의 경로를 형성하는 프리차지 스위치와, 릴레이 코일로 흐르는 전류를 제한하기 위한 전류 제한 저항을 포함하여, 릴레이 코일에 대한 프리차지 릴레이 접점과 스위칭 접점을 접속시키는 프리차지부, 릴레이 동작 신호에 의해 순차적으로 충전되는 복수의 충전 소자를 통해 릴레이 코일로 흐르는 전류의 크기를 조절하기 위한 전류 지령 신호를 생성하는 전류 지령 신호 생성부, 및 전류 지령 신호에 종속적으로 온오프 동작이 제어되어 릴레이 코일로 흐르는 전류의 크기를 조절하는 메인 스위치를 포함하여, 릴레이 코일에 대한 메인 릴레이 접점과 스위칭 접점을 접속시키는 전류 제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
