본 발명은 호 교차로에서의 평균 통행시간 정보를 활용하여 교통량을 추정하는 교통량 추정방법 및 교통량 추정장치에 관한 것으로,본 발명의 실시예에 따른 평균 통행시간 정보를 이용한 교통량 추정방법은,외부 서버로부터 평균 통행시간 정보를 수신하는 평균 통행시간 정보 수신단계; 상기 평균 통행시간 정보를 이용하여 평균 지체시간을 산출하는 평균 지체시간 산출단계; 교통상황을 시간의 종속성이 없는 안정 상태로 가정하고, 상기 산출된 평균 지체시간을 이용하여 1차 교통량을 추정하는 1차 교통량 추정단계; 무작위 지체의 지체곡선을 실제 지체곡선으로 보정하는 좌표변환기법을 적용하고, 상기 산출된 평균 지체시간을 이용하여 근포화 또는 과포화 상태에서의 2차 교통량을 추정하는 2차 교통량 추정단계;를 포함한다.
The present invention relates to a method for estimating traffic volume and an apparatus thereof, which estimate traffic volume using average travel time information at a signal intersection. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method comprises: an average travel time information receiving step of receiving average travel time information from an external server; an average latency time calculating step of calculating an average latency time using the average travel time information; a first traffic volume estimating step of assuming a traffic condition as a stable state without time dependency and estimating a first traffic volume using the calculated average latency time; and a second traffic volume estimating step of applying a coordinate conversion technique for correcting a latency curve of a random latency model to an actual latency curve and estimating second traffic volume in a near-saturated or supersaturated state using the calculated average latency time.
