The present invention relates to an exhaust reduction apparatus and method for a diesel engine, which remove pollutants (harmful materials or the like) included in an exhaust gas by passing the exhaust gas of an engine sequentially through a main pollutant collection duct, a middle pollutant collection duct and an exhaust gas discharge duct, while inducing the exhaust gas passing through an exhaust gas discharge unit to revolve to generate a centrifugal force and also inducing the exhaust gas to be dissolved in a catalyst solution, thereby maximizing pollutant reduction efficiency. In addition, the exhaust gas discharge unit is arranged to be inclined at 30-40° along an outer circumferential surface of each collection duct such that the exhaust gas discharged through the exhaust gas discharge unit generates the centrifugal force as the exhaust gas revolves and at this time collides against an inner wall of each collection duct to separate particulate materials, thereby further enhancing exhaust gas filtering effect.
