The present invention provides a reinforced forward collision warning system using vehicle braking distance prediction and a method thereof which improve reliability. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the reinforced forward collision warning method using vehicle braking distance prediction comprises: a step of predicting a braking distance by a vehicle braking distance predictor (VBDP) learned using a neural network (NN) from driving data; a step of calculating a braking distance from a vehicle braking distance model (VBDM) of a forward collision warning system (FCWS); and a step of comparing the predicted braking distance of the vehicle braking distance predictor (VBDP) and the braking distance calculated from the vehicle braking distance model (VBDM) of the forward collision warning system (FCWS) to determine whether the forward collision warning system (FCWS) is abnormal based on whether similarity exists.

    차량 제동거리 예측을 통한 보강된 전방 추돌 경고 시스템 및 방법이 제시된다. 일 실시예에 따른 차량 제동거리 예측을 통한 보강된 전방 추돌 경고 방법은, 주행 데이터로부터 신경망(Neural Network: NN)을 통해 학습된 차량 제동거리 예측 시스템(Vehicle Braking Distance Predictor: VBDP)을 통해 제동거리를 예측하는 단계; 전방 추돌 경고 시스템(Forward Collision Warning System: FCWS)의 차량 제동거리 모델(Vehicle Braking Distance Model: VBDM)로부터 제동거리를 계산하는 단계; 및 상기 차량 제동거리 예측 시스템(VBDP)의 예측된 제동거리와 상기 전방 추돌 경고 시스템(FCWS)의 차량 제동거리 모델(VBDM)로부터 계산된 제동거리를 비교하여 유사성 여부를 통해 상기 전방 추돌 경고 시스템(FCWS)의 이상 유무를 판단하는 단계를 포함하여 이루어질 수 있다.
