거니 플랩 조립체는 액추에이터 및 본체를 갖는다. 본체는 선단 에지 및 후단 에지를 갖고, 선단 에지에 근접한 액추에이터에 부착된 제1 패널 및 후단 에지에서 제1 힌지에 부착된 제2 패널을 포함한다. 제2 힌지는 제1 패널 및 제2 패널에 부착된다. 액추에이터 아웃풋의 선형 운동은 거니 플랩으로 전달되어, 날개의 압력 측면에서 거니 플랩은 기류로 확장 및 전개된다.

    A gurney flap assembly (50) has an actuator (100) and a body (155). The body (155) has a leading edge and a trailing edge and includes a first panel (215) attaching to the actuator (100) proximate the leading edge, and a second panel (205) attaching to a first hinge (223) at the trailing edge. A second hinge (222) attaches the first and second panel (215, 205). Linear motion of an actuator output (110) is transposed to the gurney flap (150), thereby causing the gurney flap (150) to expand and deploy into the airstream on the pressure side of a wing (75).
