The present invention relates to a system and a method for controlling an engine operation of an environmentally friendly vehicle which gives optimal efficiency in operating an engine by varying an engine operating point area corresponding to a torque demanded by a battery state of charge (SOC) area and a driver. Therefore, the present invention provides a variation in an engine operating point in accordance with torque demanded by a battery SOC and a driver, and allows to vary the engine operating point to a level which can minimize the amount of discharge quantity of a battery and simultaneously maximize the amount of charge quantity of a battery, thereby satisfying both battery SOC protection and torque demanded by a driver, and providing the system and the method for controlling an engine operation of an environmentally friendly vehicle with an optimal efficiency in engine operation.

    본 발명은 배터리 SOC 영역 및 운전자 요구토크에 따라 엔진 운전점 사용 영역을 가변하여, 최적의 엔진 운전 효율을 구현할 수 있도록 한 친환경 차량의 엔진 운전 제어 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 즉, 본 발명은 배터리 SOC 및 운전자 요구토크에 따라 엔진 운전점을 가변시키되, 배터리 방전량을 최소화시키는 동시에 배터리 충전량을 극대화시킬 수 있는 수준의 엔진 운전점으로 가변시킬 수 있도록 함으로써, 배터리 SOC 방어 및 운전자 요구토크를 모두 충족시킬 수 있고, 최적의 엔진 운전 효율을 실현할 수 있는 친환경 차량의 엔진 운전 제어 시스템 및 방법을 제공하고자 한 것이다.
