A method for controlling the coasting torque of a vehicle comprises: a step of determining whether external information is received; a step of acquiring one or more road speed data with respect to a road where a present vehicle is driven on the basis of the external information; a step of selecting the coating torque of the vehicle on the basis of the road speed data; and a step of controlling a motor connected to a drive shaft based on the selected coating torque. Therefore, the present invention improves energy recovery efficiency by setting the coating torque of the vehicle according to the situation of the road.
