The present invention relates to an apparatus for discriminating a passenger in vehicles to improve passenger discriminating ability by expanding a classifying performance margin between child and adult passengers. To achieve this, according to the present invention, provided is an apparatus for discriminating a passenger in vehicles, which comprises: a chamber provided in a seat cushion, and having each area by classifying an adult main detection area and a child main detection area; a pressure sensor measuring a pressure value applied to the chamber; and a margin improvement means configured to output a pressure value measured in the adult main detection area to be greater than a pressure value measured in the child main detection area when the same load is inputted into a chamber of the adult main detection area and a chamber of the child main detection area.

    본 발명은 유아와 성인 승객의 구분 성능 마진을 확대하여 승객 식별력을 향상시키는 차량용 승객 식별장치에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 발명은, 시트쿠션에 마련되며, 성인 주감지영역과 유아 주감지영역을 구분하여 각 영역별로 구비한 챔버; 상기 챔버들에 가해지는 압력값을 측정하는 압력센서; 및 성인 주감지영역의 챔버와 유아 주감지영역의 챔버에 동일한 하중 입력시, 성인 주감지영역에서 측정되는 압력값이 유아 주감지영역에서 측정되는 압력값보다 크게 출력되도록 구성된 마진증대수단;을 포함하여 구성되는 차량용 승객 식별장치가 소개된다.
