The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for predicting the junction temperature of an inverter. The apparatus for predicting the junction temperature of an inverter comprises: a mode determination part; a loss calculation part; an impedance compensation part; a motor frequency compensation part; and a junction temperature prediction part. The mode determination part determines the drive mode of the inverter depending on the drive state of a vehicle. The loss calculation part calculates the power loss of each of an insulated gate bipolar mode transistor (IGBT) included in a power module corresponding to the determined drive mode of the inverter and a diode. The impedance compensation part compensates for a heat resistant element of the power module depending on the flow volume of cooling water and calculates a cooling water temperature compensation value of the IGBT module and the diode by using the compensated heat resistant element and each calculated power loss. The motor frequency compensation part compensates for a temperature ripple generated depending on the frequency of the motor. The junction temperature prediction part combines the compensated cooling water temperature compensation value with the temperature of the cooling water, which is obtained from a temperature sensor arranged inside the inverter, to predict the junction temperature of the power module.

    본 발명은 인버터의 정션온도 예측 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 장치는, 차량의 주행 상태에 따라 인버터 운전모드를 결정하는 모드 결정부, 상기 결정된 인버터 운전모드에 대응하여 파워모듈을 구성하는 IGBT(insulated gate bipolar mode transistor) 모듈 및 다이오드(Diode) 각각의 전력 손실을 산출하는 손실 계산부, 냉각수 유량에 따라 상기 파워모듈의 열저항 성분을 보상하고, 상기 보상된 열저항 성분과 상기 산출된 각 전력 손실을 이용하여 상기 IGBT 모듈 및 다이오드 각각에 대한 냉각수 온도 보상값을 산출하는 임피던스 보상부, 모터의 주파수에 따라 발생하는 온도리플을 보상하는 모터 주파수 보상부, 및 상기 보상된 냉각수 온도 보상값 및 상기 인버터 내에 배치된 온도센서로부터 획득한 냉각수 온도를 조합하여 상기 파워모듈의 정션온도를 예측하는 정션온도 예측부를 포함한다.
