The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for calculating a road grade, correcting an error caused by the mounting angle of a gravitational acceleration (G) sensor by using a global positioning system (GPS) reception apparatus mounted on a vehicle and map information. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for calculating a road grade using the G-sensor comprises: a data detection unit detecting data for calculation of the road grade; a navigation apparatus outputting road information in accordance with the location of the vehicle; and a control unit correcting an error of the G-sensor using an altitude value detected by the data detection unit and an altitude value of the current vehicle in accordance with the road information received by the navigation apparatus.

    본 발명은 차량에 장착된 GPS 수신 장치 및 지도 정보를 이용하여 G센서 장착 각도에 의한 오차를 보정하는 도로 구배 연산 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 G센서를 이용한 도로 구배 연산 장치는 도로 구배 연산을 위한 데이터를 검출하는 데이터 검출부; 차량의 위치에 따른 도로 정보를 출력하는 네비게이션 장치; 및 상기 데이터 검출부에서 검출한 고도값과 상기 네비게이션 장치에서 수신된 도로 정보에 따른 현재 차량의 고도값을 이용하여 G센서의 오차를 보정하는 제어부를 포함할 수 있다.
