To provide a hybrid vehicle that is able to reduce a catalyst warm-up period and improve fuel consumption.SOLUTION: When a catalyst is warmed up by driving a diesel engine, a control device sets target engine torque every predetermined time and obtains an engine exhaust temperature of an exhaust gas, based on the target engine torque. Further, the control device obtains an amount of heat radiated from exhaust gas by an exhaust system from the diesel engine to the catalyst. Subsequently, based on the engine exhaust temperature and the amount of radiated heat, the control device obtains an inflow exhaust temperature when the exhaust gas flows into the catalyst. If it is determined that the catalyst temperature is equal to or lower than the inflow exhaust gas temperature, the control device drives the diesel engine with the target engine torque to warm up the catalyst. On the other hand, if it is determined that the catalyst temperature is higher than the inflow exhaust temperature, the control device stops the diesel engine and executes running of a motor for a predetermined time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
