To provide a method for determining an occupied state using seat heating devices arranged in seats, and corresponding seat heating devices allowing the occupied state to be securely and efficiently determined.SOLUTION: The present invention is a method for determining a seat occupied state using seat heating devices provided with heating devices having several heating elements, a first and second terminals and arranged in seats. The method, further, includes applying the AC voltage of a frequency response curve in 10 MHz to 40 MHz or within that partial range on the heating devices to determine the occupied state. Further, a voltage amplitude curve over a whole frequency sweep is determined through two terminals to be compared with a reference curve. The invention, further, relates to the seat heating device performing the method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
