To provide a suspension type electric reel including an automatic brake that, when a drone becomes unable to fly due to a failure or the like during a tethered flight of the drone, mechanically reduces the falling speed of the drone.SOLUTION: An electric reel used for a drone in a tethered flight using a sling, comprises: a spool that can rotate forwardly and reversely when rotating in winding and unwinding directions of the sling, respectively; a motor that always drives rotationally in one direction; a group of gears that can transmit the rotation of the motor to the spool as forward rotation in the winding direction; a drag which is located in a transmission path of the group of gears, and capable of allowing the spool to rotate reversely as rotation in the unwinding direction; and a brake which is located on one side of the spool and capable of braking the reverse rotation of the spool.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
