To provide a technology capable of appropriately reducing standby power consumption of a platform door device while considering safety.SOLUTION: A platform door device according to the present invention includes a drive mechanism 13 for driving a door for opening and closing an entrance on a platform to open/close the entrance, an existence determination unit 33 for determining whether a vehicle exists within a prescribed section of a track provided along the entrance of the platform, and a drive control unit 34 for controlling the drive mechanism 13. The drive control unit 34 controls the drive mechanism 13 at a fully closed position of a door under a first control condition in the case that the vehicle is not determined to exist within the prescribed section, and controls the drive mechanism at a fully closed position of the door under a second control condition in the case that the vehicle is determined to exist within the prescribed section, and the control under the first control condition has power consumption required to drive the drive mechanism 13 at the fully closed position of the door smaller than the control under the second control condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
