To provide an RFID tag reader that improves the stability of reading an RFID tag when an antenna is inserted into an opening of an article equipped with the RFID tag to read the RFID tag, and a lifter equipped with the same.SOLUTION: An RFID tag reader comprises: a telescopic expandable structure such as a multi-connection link 10; a cable-like antenna 20 that expands and contracts in a spiral shape around the expandable structure along with expansion/contraction of the expandable structure, or expands and contracts in a zigzag shape along the expandable structure; and an RFID tag reading circuit 3 that is connected to the cable-like antenna 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
