To provide a construction method for an environment potential filed model, capable of automatically adjusting a safety range of different kinds of obstacles so as to approach reality of sailing according to information on the obstacle in a vector electronic chart, and securing safety in sailing of a ship due to the constructed model satisfying demand of collision avoidance of the ship under different conditions.SOLUTION: A construction method for an environment potential field model based on polygon outward equidistance externally expanding method, includes: acquiring data of an electronic chart of a predetermined sea area to obtain a distribution of an obstacle in an environment to be modeled through extraction of the data; constructing a potential field for a rugged polygon of the obstacle with the equidistance externally expanding method; setting parameters to automatically adjust a safety range of obstacles having different attributes; and overlapping potential filed models of the different obstacles with each other to obtain the perfect potential field model of the obstacle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
