To provide a screw propeller capable of effectively reducing the influence of hub vortex generated in a screw propeller wake flow.SOLUTION: A screw propeller comprises a propeller hub and at least one propeller blade protruding outward from the propeller hub in the radial direction. The screw propeller has at least one groove part formed on the outer circumferential surface of the propeller hub at the rear end side of the propeller hub than at least one propeller blade. At least one groove part extends toward the upstream side in the rotating direction of the propeller hub from the front end of the groove toward the rear end of the groove, extends along the circumferential direction of the propeller hub by a predetermined circumferential angle at the groove front end, and a front end side boundary edge separating the groove part and the outer circumferential surface where no groove is formed adjacent to the front end side of the propeller hub is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
