To provide a technique that is advantageous in isolating abnormal factors in transmission belts of passenger conveyors and remotely determining appropriate maintenance and its timing.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor comprises: a rotating drive body connected to a drive motor that drives a plurality of footsteps; a driven rotating body connected to a speed reducer; a transmission endless belt wrapped around the driving rotating body and the driven rotating body; and an idler for adjusting the tension of the transmission endless belt. An abnormality detection device for passenger conveyors detects a first speed, which is a traveling speed of the transmission endless belt, from a rotation speed of the idler, detects a second speed, which is a circulating speed of the transmission endless belt, from a circulation time of the transmission endless belt, and calculates an amount of elongation of the transmission endless belt by comparing the first speed and the second speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10

    【課題】乗客コンベアの伝動ベルトの異常要因を切り分けて、適切な保全とその時期を遠隔で判断する上で有利な技術を提供する。【解決手段】乗客コンベアは、複数の踏段を駆動する駆動モータに連結された駆動回転体と、減速機に連結された従動回転体と、駆動回転体と従動回転体とに巻き掛けられた伝動無端帯と、伝動無端帯の張力調整を行うアイドラーと、を有する。乗客コンベアの異常検出装置は、アイドラーの回転速度から伝動無端帯の走行速度である第一速度を検出し、伝動無端帯の周回時間から伝動無端帯の周回速度である第二速度を検出し、第一速度と第二速度とを比較することにより、伝動無端帯の伸び量を演算する。【選択図】図10
