To provide a support system for an underwater work machine and a support method capable of enlarging a work area of the underwater work machine and improving work efficiency of the underwater work machine.SOLUTION: A support method of an underwater work machine installs a power generator 3 and a drum device 6 on a floating body 2 floating on a water surface to connect a lower end part of a power cable 4a wound around the drum device 6 with the underwater work machine 20. The method also installs a plurality of reel devices 7 with spaces therebetween in a plan view on the floating body 2 to connect each of lower end parts 8a of string-like bodies 8 wound around the respective reel device 7 at a position apart from each other relating to the underwater work machine 20. Further, the method makes the floating body 2 track movement of the underwater work machine 20 not only by controlling tension of each of the string-like bodies 8 to be kept in a predetermined specific range but by tracking the floating body 2 through the string-like body 8 with the underwater work machine 20 in a state of control of keeping tension of the power cable 4a in a preset tolerance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】水中作業機械の作業エリアの拡大を図り、水中作業機械の作業効率を向上させることができる水中作業機械の支援システムおよび支援方法を提供する。【解決手段】水上に浮かぶ浮体2に発電機3とドラム装置6を設置し、ドラム装置6に巻回されている電源ケーブル4aの下端部を水中作業機械20に接続する。浮体2に平面視で互いに間隔をあけて複数のリール装置7を設置して、それぞれのリール装置7に巻回されている紐状体8の下端部8aを、水中作業機械20に対して互いに間隔をあけた位置に接続する。それぞれの紐状体8の張力を予め設定した所定範囲に維持する制御を行うとともに、電源ケーブル4aの弛みを予め設定された許容範囲に維持する制御を行った状態で、水中作業機械20により紐状体8を介して浮体2を牽引することにより、浮体2を水中作業機械20の移動に追尾移動させる。【選択図】図1
