To provide an operation support device capable of reliably avoiding a collision between an own vehicle and an object ahead thereof through forcibly causing the own vehicle to decelerate and make a turn.SOLUTION: An operation support device 10 executes: both side avoidance brake and steering control which forcibly causes an own vehicle to make a turn so as to avoid an object 200 while forcibly causing the own vehicle to decelerate with brake force applied to wheels on both sides of the own vehicle 100 when a turning amount increase demand condition is not met; and single side avoidance brake and steering control which forcibly causes the own vehicle to make a turn so as to avoid the object while forcibly causing the own vehicle to decelerate with the brake force applied to wheels on either a right side or a left side when the turning amount increase demand condition is met and the own vehicle is required to forcibly make a right turn or a left turn to avoid the object through collision avoidance control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16

    【課題】自車両を強制的に減速させつつ旋回させることにより自車両と前方物体との衝突をより確実に回避することができる運転支援装置を提供する。【解決手段】運転支援装置10は、旋回量増加要求条件が成立していない場合には、自車両100の両側の車輪に制動力を与えて自車両を強制的に減速させつつ、自車両が物体200を避けて走行するように自車両を強制的に旋回させる両側制動操舵回避制御を実行し、旋回量増加要求条件が成立している場合において、衝突回避制御により自車両を強制的に右旋回又は左旋回させて物体を避けるように走行させるときには、自車両の右側又は左側の車輪にのみ制動力を与えて自車両を強制的に減速させつつ、自車両が物体を避けて走行するように自車両を強制的に旋回させる片側制動操舵回避制御を実行する。【選択図】 図16
