To provide a road surface inspection system capable of highly efficiently detecting a defect on a road surface.SOLUTION: A road surface inspection system 1 includes an image sensor 15 that is provided on a vehicle 2 and acquires image data of the outside of the vehicle including a road surface for the purpose of using the image data for driving assist control, an acceleration sensor 12 that is provided on the vehicle and detects an acceleration of the vehicle, a position acquisition unit 18 that acquires a position of the vehicle, and a defect detection unit 31 that detects a defect existent on the road surface on the basis of at least one of the image data and acceleration, and acquires the position of the defect on the basis of the position of the vehicle acquired by the position acquisition unit. The road surface inspection system 1 further includes a server 3 that is connected to plural vehicles so that the server can communicate with the vehicles. The defect detection unit is provided on at least one of the vehicle and server. The server stores information concerning the defect acquired by the defect detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
