To provide a rubber composition which achieves both fuel economy and crack propagation resistance.SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains: a diene rubber (A); a heterocyclic compound (B) having at least one heterocyclic ring selected from the group consisting of a pyrimidine ring, a pyridazine ring, a pyrazine ring, a triazine ring, and a tetrazine ring; a metal salt (C) containing a transition metal; and sulfur (D). The mass ratio (D/C) of the sulfur (D) to the metal salt (C) containing a transition metal is preferably 0.1-10.SELECTED DRAWING: None
