To effectively use a damper that can change stiffness to reduce vibration of a power transmission device as a whole.SOLUTION: A controller of a power transmission device has a power transmission system transferring torque outputted from a driving power source to a load part, and the power transmission system has a torsional vibration damper which can change torsional stiffness. The controller of the power transmission device includes a controller which controls the torsional stiffness of the torsional vibration damper. The controller includes: a vibration estimation unit (Step S1) which estimates an increase in torsional vibration of the power transmission system; and a torsional stiffness indication unit (Step S3) which instructs, when the vibration estimation unit estimates the increase in torsional vibration, an increase in torsional stiffness of the torsional vibration damper.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
