To prevent an inter-vehicular distance from changing due to difference in drive force responsiveness which is caused by deviated timings of shifting among automatic transmissions of vehicles participating a convoy and prevent the convoy from breaking.SOLUTION: A convoy travelling system executes shifting of automatic transmissions in the order from a vehicle on a trailing end side of the vehicles participating a convoy (S5-S7), accordingly, drive force responsiveness increases from a vehicle on the trailing end side because the shifting causes a margin in the output control of the drive force source of the vehicle and which enables the vehicles to properly follow respective preceding vehicles while maintaining a target inter-vehicle distance relative to the preceding vehicles, thereby suppressing breaking of the convoy when shifting the automatic transmissions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】隊列参加車両の自動変速機の変速のタイミングのずれによる駆動力応答性の相違に起因して車間距離が変化し、隊列が乱れることを抑制する。【解決手段】隊列参加車両の中の後尾側の車両から順番に自動変速機の変速が実行されるため〔S5~S7〕、その変速により後尾側の車両から駆動力源の出力制御に余裕が生じて駆動力応答性が高くなり、先行車両に対して目標車間距離を保持しつつ適切に追従走行することが可能で、自動変速機の変速時に隊列が乱れることが抑制される。【選択図】図7
