To provide an optical interconnection structure capable of easily securing the number of times of reconnection between first and second optical fibers, and an optical interconnection method.SOLUTION: An optical interconnection structure 1 comprises: a contact wire 2 with an optical fiber, which has a contact wire 21 and a first optical fiber 22 built into the contact wire 21; an optical cable 3 having a second optical fiber 31 and a sheath 33 for coating the second optical fiber 31; and a third optical fiber 4, the one end of which is fusion-spliced to a first protrusion 223 of the first optical fiber 22, protruded from the contact wire 21, and the other end of which is fusion-spliced to a second protrusion 313 of the second optical fiber 31, protruded from the sheath 33.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
